Cleaning Up After Irma

When Hurricane Irma tore through our state, she left a path of destruction in her wake—and we knew it was our duty to join our neighbors in the recovery process. As a company strong with manpower and the ability to help, we turned to our Associates, and we were beyond humbled to see their eager response.

Taking immediate action in Broward County, we first began clearing debris from foster homes and maternity homes with 4KIDS, an organization that helps provide a safe home to children in crisis. We also lent a hand to the Salvation Army, working to remove fallen trees and branches from their main headquarters in Fort Lauderdale.

Then, we turned our focus to the Keys, where Hurricane Irma caused the most severe damage. An Associate put us in touch with the Key Largo Baptist Church, and through them we were able to gain entrance into the nearly impenetrable areas that were overcome with debris. Every day for a week, we sent a truck filled with our crew to clear the rubble, as well as hand out supplies like water, non-perishable foods, and batteries to the residents.

We still have a long way to go, but we couldn’t be prouder of our Associates, who are so willing to help in this time of need. We’re also collecting money through our GoFundMe page to support the American Red Cross, and we are pledging to match every dollar raised with up to $100,000 in furniture donations—so everyone can help like this.
